I travel from Chelmsford, Essex to Shephard & Akay and would not feel confident with any other optician. Following major eye surgery in the 1980s I would not go anywhere else. I receive exemplary care and my concerns are always dealt with kindly and excellently. I cannot thank Mr. Akay enough.

Simply the best place to be fitted for contact lenses locally - there is real expertise and experience.  I have been going there for over 20 years and never had a problem. There is also an excellent range of spectacles so it is the perfect one stop shop. The aftercare is second to none and the admin staff are really friendly and efficient.

Very knowledgable and friendly staff. My eye test and contact lens consultation were done very thoroughly. Impressive modern equipment, which can take 3D scans of the retina to check health. Good range of quality frames, although the variety for men is slightly lacking.
